Leading and growing the User Platform group – 4 teams and ~40 engineers – as a senior leader in the Product Platform supergroup, you will Set the strategic direction for backend identity systems, including authentication, user access, and account services and Drive technical strategy and architecture across distributed systems and APIs. Championing security, scalability, and performance across user platform services is required.

The Senior Software Engineer role delivers high quality code in a timely manner, working with engineers and managers to design solutions. Build and improve Canva's observability platform and tooling, used by all Canva engineers, providing technical leadership and expertise to drive pragmatic solutions and achieve impactful design decisions. Optimize tracing and exceptions platforms, improve operational effectiveness and increase reliability. Improve the use of traces and exceptions, providing better insights to engineers. Enhance the exception workflow to help engineers seamlessly capture errors, gain actionable insights, and set up high-signal, low-noise alerts.

As an Intermediate Engineer, you'll be a hands-on contributor, helping to build and manage software that solves engineering problems at scale. You will collaborate with other Xeros in a cross-functional environment to help create and deliver beautiful software to our customers, faster. You will undertake software application development on our suite of products, contributing to new or improved experiences for our customers, internal and external.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be a hands-on technical contributor who plays a key role in building and managing software that solves engineering problems at scale. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to help create and deliver beautiful software to customers, faster. You’ll undertake software application development on our existing suite of products, contributing to new or improved experiences for customers.
